37 Week Update

Well on Sunday I will be 37 weeks, and today I had my check up...

If this baby isn't taking after me in my teen years... I don't know who she is taking after!

I am going to try and make my update short and sweet, but I can say I am beyond confused. We all already know neither of my boys ever dropped into my pelvis, and that was the reason for scheduling my c-section this time around for May 3rd...

Well the past couple days, I have had pains and feelings I never got with either boy, but didn't want to worry about it because every pregnancy is different... Today the OB at my practice confirmed that yes, Little Miss A HAS dropped down into my pelvis, and I almost died of shock.

I am still pretty thick, but starting to dilate.

So I started asking a ton of questions, and what if's...

Basically... I have been given the green light for a trial of labor, if that is what I want when the time comes...

I think I have decided if I go into labor before my scheduled c-section date, I will give it a try for a VBA2C, but if I do not go into labor on my own before May 3rd, I am going to continue with my original plan to have a scheduled c-section...

BUT!

I have to go for another ultrasound on Wednesday because my fundal height (belly) is only measuring 33 weeks... so if I go on Wednesday and the baby has started to slow in growth again (17th% last time) if she has dropped below the 17th% at all, I am likely going to be delivering Wednesday night... or Thursday. And that will be the end of the road...

I would certainly prefer to deliver on Wednesday though, as that is Will's late Grandmother's birthday, and she was such an amazing woman, and she was a second mother to him. It would really be an amazing day for our little girl to come into the world.

So as much as I have wanted to try and plan this for comfort... Someone else just DOESN'T want us to have any kind of plan in place!

So... here it to winging it from here on out!

Laundry is a Contact Sport

I hate laundry... with a passion. I hate it even more since we moved into the house we live in now over three years ago, because the washer and dryer are in the basement. Meaning I have to brave it down the basement stairs and through the garage to get to the washer and dryer.

Typically it doesn't bother me, but right now I have a basketball under my shirt, and my balance is just slightly off. I feel like every time I waddle down the stairs with a giant basket of laundry I am taking my life into my own hands. Mind you the garage floor is a slab of cement... Not something I want to land on.

The boys laundry has piled up, not to the point where they have nothing to wear, but to the point where I am seriously intimidated by the basket. Just looking at it makes me want to run screaming in the other direction, or hide under my bed.

But alas... I started working on it today and after four loads of laundry, all the trips up and down the stairs, and a huge dent in it... I feel like I am about to drop Little Miss A right out... Of course we all know it isn't going to be that damn easy, but it feels like that!

Oh the joys of being a work at home mom!

The 21 Day Countdown

3 weeks... 21 days... 504 hours...30,240 minutes... Until we are no longer a family of four, but a family of five... and the children sleeping through the night ceases to happen in our house.

I have a laundry list of things that still need to get done before Little Miss A joins our family, and thinking about it now... I want to do a tailspin of panic.

On a positive note this week, I got the full results of the amnio finally, it seems like I have been waiting forever for the results to come in, and the genetics are 100% normal, there is no infection, and they are thinking that she just may be a little girl. I mean, lets face it... it is not like the boys are giants.

What do we still need to do?

  • Install the car seat
  • Finish the nursery
  • Get the co-sleeper out of the attic and wash the bedding
  • Build the swing
  • Build the bouncer
  • Build the cubical storage unit for her bedroom
  • Buy more newborn diapers (because I will not be washing diapers while recovering from a c-section... I cant handle the added laundry and the stairs)
  • Finish my bedroom nesting/cleaning project
  • Find a maid for one day a week
  • Pack my bags
  • Pack the boys bags
Um... Yeah... Panic now!

My Kids Could Fall Asleep Anywhere...

More proof that my children could fall asleep anywhere? Or really play and play till they can't keep their eyes open anymore?

The past couple days, Ben has really been fighting his nap... Today him and Camden decided an empty girl scout cookie box was a toy. They drove their trucks through it, passed it around, used it as binoculars, clearly showed their imagination...

Then Ben decided to put it on as a form of BabyLegs, or leg warmers to go to sleep...

Swing Set

Apparently the swing set being assembled turned into a two day project. But alas this evening it was finally finished. Something about crappy directions... I guess that's why so many people opt to pay people to build these things!

After it was finally up, Camden ended up falling asleep in the swing, it was the cutest thing ever!

I hated having to wake him up for dinner and a bath, but him and Ben were incredibly dirty after their boy afternoon digging and playing in the backyard. I am super excited it is finally starting to get warm enough to play outside again without worrying about them getting sick from the cold!

Getting Gorgeous in NYC!

Today I headed to NYC for a blogging event, and just wanted to share a couple pictures... For the full run down of the day, I wrote about it on my site.

Me and my friend Courtney waiting for the train to come!

Riding Metro North into the city!
I look HUGE! Well, I mean, tomorrow I will be 35 weeks! WOW!

Getting Gorgeous!!

Courtney was like the Paparazzi every table I went to... This time she caught me at Weight Watchers talking to them about postpartum weight loss, and points while breastfeeding!

34 weeks 4 days...

Yesterday I was 34 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I took a little bit of time to finally take a couple belly pictures. People have been pestering me about it since I haven't done it since I was in my early second trimester...

But lets be honest here... I feel like a house, so the last thing I want to be doing is showing off my pregnant body!

Although after posting these on facebook, my friends and family made me feel like I look fantastic!

Funny thing about this picture... a woman I know from the birth community that I have talked with a ton in the past couple years left a comment on this picture... Her 9 year old daughter walked by the computer as she was scrolling through the pictures and saw this... and her 9 year old says "Who is that? SHE LOOKS AWESOME!" Talk about an ego boost!

I am still tossing around the idea of getting professional maternity pictures done. I have like... A WEEK to make the decision, but I would love to do some with the kids and Will... plus this is the last time I will have the opportunity since we are done having kids, so that is really weighing heavily on my decision. Hmm!
What do you think?
