Circus Time

On Saturday Camden & I went to the Circus. Ben stayed with Grandma and made a pumpkin cheesecake, and some cookies. I figured he is still a little young to be interested.

Camden and I had a blast! He loved the Elephants and the tigers, and has been talking about them all week since we went... He was a little scared of everything at first, but started to warm up once I bought him one of those light up toys that cost AS MUCH as our ticket did. (Circus is highway robbery!)

Waiting outside to go in... He wasn't quite sure why we were waiting in a line...
A picture of the two of us waiting to go inside... Pardon the nasal morning sickness aid I had in my nose... I forget the thing is there sometimes, but it works wonders! We went down to the ring for the all access pre-show they do, and made some friends with the clowns. Rudy introduced Camden to all of the other clowns to try and make him more comfortable because he was pretty worried and scared. One of the other clowns took this picture, and then we started talking about camera's and photoshop... Who would have thought clowns know about that stuff!
Orange County Choppers made Ringling Brother's their own motorcycle. How neat is it? They incorporate it into the show before they start, and Camden wanted to ride it. LOL
He really wasn't into taking pictures, but he wanted to try all the clothes on that we could during the pre-show.
The infamous toy... Two things about this... It is DANGEROUS... It lights up and spins around and if you get too close to it, you will lose an eye. Two... We went through TWO before we got one that worked properly. Dead batteries, missing lights, you would think for $16 they could at least make sure they all work right? But that is the one HE wanted, so he got it. It made the rest of our day tons of fun without fright. When you tell a toddler to smile... apparently this is what you get...

On the way out, he got upset. He didn't want to leave the circus, and didn't understand why we had to leave. He wants to go back next year, and I think we will continue to go back, it was a lot of fun overall.

There is SOMETHING wrong with this sour cream...

The other night I ran to the store, kid free while they were home with Will to pick up a couple things. I needed sour cream, Reese Peanut Butter Cups, and Milk... a preggo shopping list of course.

I ran into Walmart and picked up all my necessities and headed home. I unloaded everything in the kitchen and just went to use the sour cream.

I opened the container and there was something disgusting and chunky about it. I looked at the date first... still good... Ok so what is the problem here?

Oh its cottage cheese... not sour cream! Pregnant fail #1!

Pumpkin Picking 2.0 & The Pumpkin Festival

Last week when we went pumpkin picking it was so busy we skipped the hay ride, and the typical stuff we do when we go to Jone's our local patch. Today we did part 2 when it was much less busy.

Even with 3 layers on, Ben looked like a Popsicle.Camden wanted to "hide" in the little play houses...
Hayride
Sitting in the hay... that was Camden's "nice smile"
Ben hanging around with Daddy.

Once we were finished there, we went to the annual Pumpkin Festival at Booth Memorial Park. I love the fact that they have the Halloween celebration at one of the most haunted places where I grew up. I love the history of Stratford, and the park.

One of my favorite pumpkins...I thought this one was neat too...

Another neat pumpkin...
My favorite of all... It may not have had a ton of carving, but it was an awesome idea, and with my nautical background, how could I not love it?

Mini Van Mom

If you know our family, you also know that I have been driving a blazer that I haven't really liked all that much for a little under a year now. Which certainly beat not having a car at all which is something I dealt with for a period of time when Will went back to work.

Two Sunday's ago, the Blazer died. I was leaving Lordship after dinner at my parents house, and I got on the main road, which is a two land road with a speed limit of 30 but people use as a drag racing track. I went to pull into the gas station and realized they were closed, so I was off to the next station. I wasn't worried, I still had over a quarter tank.

Then the car died. I pulled over into the right hand lane which had no break down lane. Threw on my flashers and prayed no one would hit me with the kids in the car the way they travel down the road there.

A cop came and sat behind me as I waited for my husband and father to get there. Eventually we got it back to my parents house. I really have NO idea how they got it there, but I had already taken my mothers car back to her house with the kids.

We called AAA to tow the car back to our house and determine what happened. The fuel pump was the culprit and that is when the debate started between me and Will. Should we look for a new car, fix the blazer, what? My stance the whole time was junk it. It served us good for the time, but in the next 6ish months, we are going to have to get a new car anyways because we can't fit 3 carseats in the blazer anyways.

Then I got a new contract, $450 a month to write 20 articles a month on top of the income I already have brought to the table. That sealed the deal and we found a minivan at a reasonable price, used, and started the process.

I am proud to say as of Tuesday night, we are the official owners of a Dodge Caravan in blue, my favorite color! I LOVE it! The kids love the room, and it is so nice having a car I feel comfortable, safe, and reliable in!

I want to thank my parents for all their help during the process, and all the support. I couldn't have done it without you guys!

I will take pictures soon!

Pumpkin Picking

Yesterday afternoon we took a trip to our local pumpkin farm Jones's and it was PACKED! We have never in our lives seen so many people there. We took a couple quick pictures and let Camden pick his own pumpkin out, but skipped the hayride and all the typical things we do.

We are hoping to go back next weekend when it is a little less crowded. And we can have a little bit more time. (Will had a side job through the fire department, so we were on a tight schedule yesterday)

Ben had NO idea what to do with all the room he could run in...

He also wanted the biggest pumpkin's he could find!

Camden didn't want to take his fireman's helmet off, and he wanted to sit on every pumpkin... So I gave up on trying to take too many pictures soon after we got there...
Camden picked his own pumpkin for the first time this year! He has been carrying it around the house and playing with it, putting his fire helmet on it, totally cute to watch. I am going to try and paint it with him in the next couple days...

Ben picked his own too!

Boy or Girl?

Today I took the Intelligender test. It is a novelty gender prediction test that goes by your first morning urine. I know many people who have taken them before, and I have only met 2 people that it was right for. Although I thought it was cute to give a try.

According to my first urine this morning, we should be expecting a third boy come May... with our luck that is probably the case, but it ain't over till I have that ultrasound in December, and we find out for sure.

Hopefully then we can start buying adorable pink apparel.

Just on a related pregnancy note...

Today I am 10 weeks pregnant.... on 10-10-10 neat huh?

My husband... The Fireman

Yesterday there was a call just as he was getting home from work for a working basement fire. By the time he was on scene, a couple trucks, and groups of firemen had already started to knock down the fire, but it had already started to spread through the house.

He was instructed to get up on the roof and ventilate it... meaning, cut a hole in the poor roof.

Thanks to the brave men and women of the Shelton fire service for volunteering their time to help make our city safe!

Holy Hail!

Holy Hail! I was getting Camden down for a nap when I started to hear ICE pelting the air conditioner in the bedroom. I ran outside and grabbed the camera to take a couple pictures. I cannot believe this! I have never seen hail like this in my life!!
